In grassland on a SE-facing slope of rising ground in upland area with good views from E through S to W , higher ground to N. Church (TS066-009001-) and graveyard (TS066-009002-) 100m to NNW. Raised circular area (int. diam. 20m N-S; 22m E-W) defined by a scarp (H 1.5- 2.5m) and outer fosse (top Wth 7m; base Wth 2.7m; ext. D 1.2m) visible from W through N to E only not visible on downslope. No entrance feature visible. Scarp and portion of interior have been partially quarried out (dims. 7m N-S; 8m E-W) at SE. Close association with church and graveyard may indicate that this is an earth and timber castle or administrative centre of a medieval manor.
