What is recorded here

In improved pasture, on an E-facing slope. Sub-oval area (dims. 36m N-S; 14m E-W) defined by remains of levelled scarp (Wth 3.75m; H 0.6m) except at S where it narrows and terminates in a low, oval mound. Oval mound (GPS 214590/138132 acc. 3m) (dims. c. 8m N-S; c. 6m E-W) defined by scarp (max. Wth 3.3m; max. H 1.1m) and generally obscured by dense overgrowth. Precise relationship of enclosure and mound is unclear due to dense overgrowth where they appear to conjoin. Fosse (basal Wth 3.75m; overall Wth 10.55m; D 0.3m) SW-NE is shared with enclosure (TS061-129001-) at N. Depicted on 1840 OS 6-inch map as a circular area (diam. c. 20m). D-shaped enclosure (TS061-129003-) is c. 10m to WSW. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
