What is recorded here

Within interior of moated site (TS061-060----). Oval area (dims. 25m NE-SW; 14m NW-SE) defined by scarp (Wth 1.1-2.85m; H 0.6-1.3m). Roughly linear bank (overall Wth 3.2m; Wth at top 1.2m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.6m) is parallel to SE (long axis NE-SW) (L 18m) and has a short return at SE-end (long axis NNW-SSE) (L 11m). Where bank is parallel to monument, there is a narrow passage (overall Wth 3.3m; basal Wth 1.5m), possibly associated with quarrying. Interior has an uneven surface with an occasional scatter of small stones (L 0.15-0.2m). Arc to NE-ENE appears to have been quarried in antiquity (dims. 16m N-S; 6m E-W; D +2m). Area to S has had animals out-wintered (evidence of ring feeders). Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
