In the grounds of the Super Valu supermarket, immediately SW of Wesley Square, with a medieval building (TS061-025010-), possibly a prison built during the reign of Edward I (1271-1306), located to the E. During archaeological excavations in 2005 three burials along with a quantity of disarticulated bone were uncovered. The minimum number of burials represented is nine, of which four are male and one female. One of the burials yielded a radiocarbon date of 1306-1425 AD which suggests that the burial ground was associated with the medieval prison. The full extent of the burial ground was not determined. (Lalonde 2007, 12-14).
