A photostat reproduction of 'Part of the Barony of Kilnemana in the County of Tipperary sett out to Major Bolton's troope in col. Pretty Regmt in y' yeare 1656' [N.L.I. 16.I.17 (13)] depicts a house which is roughly in the position of 'Kilmore House' as depicted on the 1st (1840) ed. OS 6-inch map. Kilmore house is possibly late 17th century in date, it has a T-plan and is two storeys high with an attic which is lit by small windows in the gable. There are two brick chimneys one atop each main gable. There is quite a gap between the eaves and the top of the first-floor windows, this arrangement, together with the off-set doorway, can be a feature of 17th century houses.
