What is recorded here

In fast flowing area of River Suir at Camus. No visible surface trace. Island in middle of river may have been utilised. According to Simington (1934, 376), 'Upon the s[ai]d lands stands a large stone house with a bawne about it and some cabins with a corn mill on the river of Shewir.' The Rev. Long (1896, 250-256) states that, 'several mills, the principal of which was at Camus on the Suir,' were temporal possessions of Hore Abbey and part of the diocese of Cashel and Emly.
