In improved pasture, on a low rise. According to the OS Letters 'An elevation where the walls stood still remains and shows their foundation, from which it appears the building was forty feet [12m] in length by six[t]een feet [4.9m] in breadth. The scythe shaved grass off this very spot this season, the ground around it being used as meadow ground. There is not the slighest appearance of a burying place or of any graves here' (O'Flanagan 1930, vol. 2, 101). The name 'Kilfeakle' refers to the church of the tooth, as supposedly St. Patrick's tooth fell out in the nearby ford and was kept as a relic in the church (ibid.). The land is slightly uneven across this area of the field, but there are no definitive features. A field boundary (long axis E-W) to the W of the monument has been removed. There is no visible trace of this church above ground level.
