What is recorded here

In improved pasture, on the upper edge of a WSW-facing slope, overlooking fen to the WNW. The monument is depicted on the 1904 edition OS 6-inch map as the partial remains of a sub-oval enclosure (dims. c. 45m NNW-SSE; c. 37m ENE-WSW) open to the SE. It survives as the barely traceable remains of a sub-oval area (dims. 28m NNW-SSE; 24m ENE-WSW) defined by levelled scarp from SW-NNW and traces of a very shallow external fosse (Wth 9.2m; D 0.4m) from NNW-SW. There is an ESB pole within the fosse at the N. The interior has a gentle WSW-facing slope. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
