What is recorded here

On level ground in gently undulating pasture with a possible barrow (TS058-076----) located 100m to the SE. Roughly circular slightly raised area (diam. 17m) defined by a gently sloping earthen scarp (overall Wth 3.5-4m; H 1-1.2m) with an external fosse (overall Wth 4.3m; Wth at base 2.2m; D 0.4m). From SW-W the scarped edge has been straightened off by a NNW-ESE orientated field bank. The fosse is best preserved W-NNE being silted up and barely visible NNE-SW. A relic NE-SW orientated field drain links to the fosse at NNE. The original entrance is not recognisable. The interior is clear of overgrowth and the W half is level while the E half slopes slightly facing E. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
