What is recorded here

In level wet pasture. Ringfort (TS057-009----) visible c. 120m to the ESE and another ringfort (TS057-033----) visible c. 180m to the NNW. Roughly circular slightly raised area (dims. 19m E-W; 18m N-S) enclosed by a gently sloping earthen scarp (Wth 1.25m; H 0.65m) with an external broad flat-bottomed fosse (Wth at base 3m; overall Wth 4m; D 0.2m). From NNW-NE the scarp and fosse have been removed and the edge of the ringfort straightened off parallel to a WNW-ESE orientated field drain that lies 3.5m to the N. An irregular ramp (Wth 4m) across the scarped edge at W, with a slight irregular causeway across the fosse, appears to mark the position of the original entrance. Interior is level and clear of overgrowth with a hut site (TS057-008002-) located to N of centre. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
