What is recorded here

In flat poorly drained grassland in upland region with stream 100m to E. Moated site consists of a D-shaped enclosure (int. dims. 21m E-W x 30m SE-NW) defined by an earth and stone bank (top Wth 2m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.7m) and poorly preserved outer fosse (top Wth 2.5m; base Wth 1m; ext. D 0.2-0.5m), no entrance feature visible. Field drain cuts across the S end of moated site from E-W (L 21m ) to form the enclosing element at S, straight sides to E (L 30m ) and W (L 30m) with curved side at N. Unusual shape, may have originally been oval shaped but field drain to S depicted on 1840 ed. OS may be an original feature of the monument. Typical location for a moated site. Enclosure (TS055-029----) 250m to SE, ringfort (TS055-008----) 400m to E and ringfort (TS055-007----) 250m to NE. Moated site is in a fair to poor condition.
