In reclaimed reseeded grassland, on a N-facing slope of rising ground in upland region with good views in all directions. Nearby stream 20m to N. Ringfort consists of a raised circular area (diam. 27m N-S; 25m E-W) enclosed by an earthen bank (base Wth 3m; top Wth 2m; int. H 0.2-0.5m; ext. H 1-2m) and outer fosse (base Wth 4m; top Wth 6m; ext. D 0.5m) only visible from W to N elsewhere it has been filled in. Possible entrance gap (Wth 3m) at NE although this may be a later cattle gap, two other cattle gaps at S and W. On the latest ed. OS 6-inch map the ringfort is shown as being located within a small, field defined by three field boundaries. These have all been removed during reclamation work in the larger field and during this work the fosse on the upslope was probably filled in and the external face of the bank was partially cut into during this work. Interior slopes from S to N following the slope, high ground at S and lower ground at N. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
