In flat grassland with good views in all directions. Silage pit and slatted sheds built on possible site of castle which is described in the Civil Survey (1654-6) as an 'old stumpe of a Castle not halfe built' with Redmond MaCrath of Thurlesbeg listed as proprietor in 1640 (Simington 1931, vol. 1, 243). The sheds and silage pit are located where Grangemore House formerly stood, though short stretches of walling still survive. No remains visible of any castle walls or medieval stonework. The castle remains unlocated within Grange More townland.
