On poorly drained reclaimed grassland at base of a W-facing hill in upland region with good views to N and W higher ground to E. Small stream running E-W immediately to N of ringfort. Slightly raised circular area (int. diam. 30m N-S; 32m E-W) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (top Wth 1.2m; base Wth 3m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.5m) best preserved along E quadrant of ringfort and elsewhere has been reduced to a scarp (H 0.6m) with outer fosse (base Wth 6m; top Wth 4m; ext. D 0.5-0.8m) best preserved from E through S to SW. Possible wall-footings of a rectangular house (TS053-078001-) in SE quadrant of ringfort where it appears to run off edge of scarp along SE quadrant of interior. The field boundaries to N and S of ringfort which are depicted on the 1953-4 ed. OS 6-inch map have been removed. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
