In grassland situated on a SW-facing slope of rising ground in upland area with good views to S and W, higher ground to N. Oval area (int. diam. 38m N-S; 30m E-W) enclosed by a well-preserved earth and stone bank (top Wth 1.8m; base Wth 3.8m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1-2m) and outer fosse (base Wth 2m; top Wth 5m; ext. D 0.6m) only visible from SW to W, possible entrance gap (Wth 4m) at SW. Old field boundary which intersected by bank at E as depicted on latest ed. OS 6-inch map has since been removed and stone walling visible along bank at E may be remains of this field boundary. Interior slopes from N to S following natural slope of land.
