In grassland atop low flat rise of ground with good views in all directions overlooking Arglo River to N. Unreclaimed wet marshy land to N, land to E in tillage and in grassland elsewhere. Ringfort (TS053-057----) 160m to E. Ringfort consists of a raised circular area (int. diam. 23m N-S; 22m E-W) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (top Wth 1.7m; base Wth 3.5m; ext. H 0.8-1.2m; int. H 0.2m) mainly reduced to a scarp (H 1m) and traces of an outer fosse (Wth 3m; ext. D 0.2m) visible at E and S only. Possible widened entrance gap (Wth 6m) at SE and livestock gap (Wth 4.5m) in bank at NW. Bank best preserved from NW to N elsewhere reduced to a scarp, over grazing of cattle on ringfort has caused considerable damage to the surface of the monument and the external face of the bank especially at SE and E.
