What is recorded here

In flat grassland with good views in all directions. Levelled enclosure (TS053-032----) 200m to E. Ringfort consists of a circular area (int. diam. 37m N-S; 40m E-W) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (top Wth 1.8m; base Wth 4.5m; ext. H 1.2m; int. H 0.4-1m) with possible entrance gap (Wth 3.7m) which has been widened at E. No outer fosse or other features visible. A sketch plan and section of the monument drawn in 1953 shows the interior as being below the external ground level (OS Field Memorandums). The interior has been recently cleared of vegetation and top sod has been removed otherwise the monument is in a fair to good condition. The monument was described in 1982 as being a heavily overgrown ringfort (Cahill 1982). Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
