In grassland on an E-facing slope of low N-S ridge in unudlating countryside with good views in all directions. Impressive large circular area (int. diam. 54m N-S; 56m E-W) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (top Wth 2.5m; base Wth 6m; int. H 1m; ext. H 1-1.7m) with traces of a barely visible shallow filled in fosse and entrance gap (Wth 4.5m) at E. Depicted on 1838 ed. OS 6-inch map as a bivallate ringfort of which only the inner bank now survives. Described by Cahill in 1982 as a bivallate ringfort in good condition enclosed by an inner and outer bank with intervening fosse and possible entrance gap at NE. Outer bank and inner fosse have been levelled since 1982 and inner bank appears to have been cleaned up and possibly heightened during this process. Appears on aerial photogrpah taken in 1974 as a bivallate ringfort with entrance gap at E (GSI S 593/4).
