What is recorded here

There is a 19th-century two-storey house over basement with no evidence of any building pre-1700 in the area marked on the OS 6-inch map. The Civil Survey (1654-6) describes 'two Thatcht houses & five Cabbins' upon the lands of Clonaspoe (Lisnamoe) and Clonkelly (Simington 1934, vol. 2, 92). The exact location of the pre-1700 thatched house within the townland of the Clonaspoe is unknown. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
