What is recorded here

On a S-facing slope of low rising grassland in upland area with good views in all directions. No surface remains visible of any enclosure in area marked on OS 6-inch map. Indicated as a small circular enclosure on aerial photograph (GSI S.574/3). Small quarry now covered in bushes 30m E of the enclosure. According to local landowner this quarry is referred to locally as a fort. This feature is just a small quarry with no archaeological features visible, however the tradition of a fort may in fact relate to the levelled enclosure which shows up on the aerial photograph.
