On a low rise of ground on flat pasture in undulating countryside. A large recumbent slab (dims. 2.2m x 1.8m x 0.5m) situated in an overgrown grove of trees with rubble debris dumped inside the grove. There are several large boulders scattered around the interior of the grove which are impossible to examine due to the dumping of debris and the overgrown nature of the monument. Crawford describes the monument as consisting of a 'large recumbent slab 7 feet 6 inches [2.28m] by 5 feet 9 inches [1.7m] by 2 feet [0.6m] thick, supported on small stones 12 or 15 inches [0.3m or 0.37m] above the ground. It is close to a house on the roadside and one end is built into a stable (Crawford 1910, 47). These buildings are now destroyed with debris from their demolition dumped on top of the recumbent slab. Ó Nualláin and De Valera (1982, vol.4, 99)were unsure if these stones were the remains of an authentic megalthic tomb.
