What is recorded here

Unlocated ironworking site within townland which is described by Neely as an 'old iron pit at Grange', which he speculates may have been in operation in the first half of the 16th century, or in the last years of Charles II (1660-1685) (Neely 1983, 45). Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
