On flat ground in Kilcooly Abbey demesne with a nearby ringfort (TS043-029----) 380m to N. A heavily planted ringfort where uprooting of trees has caused a lot of damage to the monument. The ringfort consists of a raised circular platform (diam. NE-SW 28m) enclosed by a poorly preserved bank (Wth 1m; int. H 0.2m), mainly reduced to a scarp (H 1.5-2m), fosse (base Wth 2m; top Wth 4-5m; ext. D 0.55m) and outer bank (top Wth 3.4m; base Wth 7m; ext. H 0.9m). A gap (Wth 4m) in the bank and a platform at WSW which may be an original entrance feature which may have been widened. A large quarry (dims. 12m x 6m; D 1.5m) located in the N quadrant of the interior has destroyed the bank and outer fosse in that quadrant.
