On flat land in Kilcooly abbey demesne with a nearby ringfort (TS043-032----) 380m to S. This monument is heavily covered with beech trees as part of a demesne plantation. This ringfort consists of a raised circular (diam. E-W 32m; N-S 36m) area enclosed by an earth and stone bank (top Wth 1m-2m; base Wth 3m-4m; int. H 0.45m; ext. H 1.8m), fosse (base Wth. 2m; top Wth 4m; ext. D 1.7m) and outer bank (base Wth 5m; top Wth 2.3m; ext. H 0.6m). A quarry located in the SE quadrant has destroyed part of the interior, inner bank and fosse. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
