What is recorded here

On top of high ground with good views in all directions, in undulating pasture. An enclosure (TS043-014----) is located 170m to the SSE and a field system (TS043-012----) lies 310m to the NNW. The barely visible outline of a levelled ringfort consists of a circular area (diam. 30m NE-SW) enclosed by the faintest outline of a levelled bank. It was described in 1989 (Mc Cormack, 15) as a large fort about 50m (150ft) in diameter enclosed by a fosse (Wth. 6m (20ft); D 2m (7ft)) and outer bank (Wth. 4m (14ft); H 2m (5ft). The ruins of 19th/20th-century farm buildings are located immediately to the NW of the ringfort. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011
