What is recorded here

Situated on a natural hillock with extensive views. A raised circular platform (diam. N-S 37m) defined by a scarp (H 1-3m) and a wide flat-bottomed water-logged fosse (Wth 4.5m; D 0.5-1.5m) with a stone-lined causewayed entrance (Wth 3.2m) at E. Evidence of mortared wall-footings protrude from the scarp on either side of the causewayed entrance and are possibly associated with entrance defences. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002).
