Situated on a NE-facing slope in undulating terrain with a ringfort (TN047-065) to the NW and an enclosure (TN047-067) to the SW. The semicircular outline of an enclosure visible as a crop-mark on an aerial photograph taken in 1965 (CUCAP, ALV 60), appears to have been the N half of a formerly circular site. Not visible at ground level.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
