Situated on level ground on a broad natural ridge in undulating pastureland. Not indicated on either the 1st (1843) or the 1952-3 ed. OS 6-inch maps, the site is visible as a circular cropmark on an aerial photograph taken in 1973 (GSIAP, S 469/470). Not visible at ground level. Another circular cropmark (TN041-071002) of slightly larger size lies immediately SE of this site.
