What is recorded here

Located on the S-facing slope of a hill in undulating pasture with a holy well (TN040-017002) c. 100m to the S. A poorly preserved church (dims. 8m N-S; 14.3m E-W; wall T 1m) of which the E wall, standing c. 5m high, is the best preserved. The N wall is preserved at foundation level only while there is no trace of the S wall. The W wall consists of small blocks of well-coursed limestone/sandstone. The church is depicted on the latest ed. OS 6-inch map in the N part of a subrectangular graveyard (TN040-017005). The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 22 September 2008

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
