Unlocated cist burial within townland. Reference to Cist burial in NMI Topopgraphical Files from 1959, During sand quarrying operations the face of the pit collpased exposing a Bronze Age burial and was located approx. 2ft below the surface of the ground. In the pit were found cremated human remains, sherds of a cinerary urn and pieces of metal foil. The decorated urn (H 27.8cm; Ext. rim 29.5cm; base Diam. 12.5cm; wall T 1.7cm) has a short, straight neck and a bucket-shaped body. The rim is decorated with a number of shallow finger-tip impressions, the body of then urn is decorated a zig-zag pattern with rounded points while the lower part of the urn has criss-cross lines (Lucas 1961, JRSAI 91, 86-88). The cremated bone represented one adult and one child (Waddell 1990, 135).
