Situated on flat poorly drained land which was overgrown by bog with nearby fulachtaí fia (TN036-050/021/029) 120m to the S and 150m to the NW respectively. The site was revealed during topsoil stripping and consisted of a ploughed-out spread (dims. 13m N-S x 7m E-W; 0.01m D) of burnt material covering a subrectangular plank- or roundwood-lined trough (dims. 2.36m x 2m x 0.46m D) which had been recut by a second rectangular trough. The trough fill consisted of charcoal and charred wood of which the charcoal was radiocarbon dated to 1145-795 BC. (Stevens 2000, 199) Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien. Date of upload: 22 September 2008
