What is recorded here

Situated on high ground in undulating countryside with extensive views. A circular area (diam. 46m N-S) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 3-4m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 2m) with a possible entrance gap (Wth 5m) at NW. Grass-covered wall-footings traversing the interior on an E-W axis may represent an old field boundary or may be associated with the Trig Station erected on the site. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 22 September 2008
