What is recorded here

Situated on a break in the SE-facing slope of a hill, in pasture. A circular enclosure depicted on the 1st (1843) ed. OS 6-inch map, with only the W half depicted on the 1904 ed. The site has been levelled although the W half is traceable as scorched/yellow grass (Wth 5.5m) forming a semicircular area (diam. 35m N-S). The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 22 September 2008
