What is recorded here

Situated in undulating meadow. Depicted as a very small circular site on the 1st ed. (1843) OS 6-inch map and not indicated on the 1904 ed. The field boundaries have been altered, a new road built and houses constructed making it difficult to establish the exact location of the site. It may be located in the field to the NW of the last house in the lane. No visible trace could be identified at ground level. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 22 September 2008

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
