Situated on a N-facing slope of the Silvermines Mountains. A stone roadway (Wth 3.5m) running NE-SW. According to the OS Namebooks Cromwell built the road as part of the main Limerick-Dublin road. Roadway marked TN026-091 and TN031-042, TN031-091, TN031-092 are a continuation of this road on the ordnance survey maps.
Also included in inventory is section of road which continues on OS sh. 31 and has the RMP number 31:42* with description as follows:
Situated on high ground in an upland area. Poorly preserved traces of a barely discernible metalled roadway (Wth 3.5m) running N-S. According to the OS Namebooks this was an old road used by Cromwell along which he conducted his armies and military stores.
