Situated on a poorly drained, NW-facing slope of rising ground in an upland area with a stream immediately to the NE. A poorly preserved, horseshoe-shaped mound of burnt material (dims. 11m SW-NE; 13m NW-SE; H 0.5m) which is intersected by a modern drain at NE revealing burnt material. Drystone-walling four courses high is visible in the NE face of the drain. This may be the wall of the trough.
