What is recorded here

Situated on a NE-facing slope on a natural rise above very poor, rushy ground. A roughly circular area (diam. c. 25m NW-SE) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 2m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.4m) and an outer fosse (Wth 3m) bisected by a road which was constructed prior to the 1st ed. (1840) OS-inch map. The W half of the site is badly damaged by modern farming practices. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002).
