What is recorded here

Situated on a rise of ground in undulating pastureland with a possible ringfort (TN021-022) to the NE. The site was levelled c. 30 years ago but is still visible as a circular enclosure (diam. 45m N-S; 44.7m E-W) defined by a low, flattened bank (0.25m H) with a slight trace of an external fosse (Wth 4.2m; D 0.05m). The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 22 September 2008
