Situated on a NW-facing slope just below the summit of a hill with a castle site (TN020-083) to the NE. An aerial photograph (R 25/24) shows the clear outline of a large circular area with enclosing bank utilised as a field fence from SW through W to N. This field fence has been subsequently removed. The site is not visible at ground level. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002).
