Situated on a natural hillock in undulating countryside. According to the OS Letters this was located at the old turnpike of Carrickatogher, at the junction of the old mail-coach road to Limerick with the road to Silvermines (O'Flanagan 1930, vol. 3, 115). Described in the OS Namebooks (c. 1840) as ' “Kyleaumery”, 'a fort (TN020-066002) situated on a small hill which was taken away in the year 1810 to make the present coach road from Nenagh to Limerick. There were a great number of human bones found here at that time as well as the boards of coffins from which it is evident this was a burial ground in former times'. No visible remains at ground level.
