Situated on a S-facing slope of rising ground in an upland area with a ringfort (TN020-014) to the S. A large impressive bivallate ringfort consisting of a circular area (diam. 24.5m NW-SE) enclosed by two earth and stone banks with narrow deep intervening fosse (Wth 1.5m; D 2m) and causewayed entrance (Wth 2.2m) at SE. The inner bank (Wth 2m; int. H 0.5-1.5m; ext. H 3m) and outer bank (Wth 2m; ext. H 0.5-1.5m) are both well preserved. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002).
