What is recorded here

Located on the summit of a ridge which slopes to the SW with higher ground upslope to the N. Only very faint remains of this roughly circular enclosure (diam. 31.8m NE-SW; 18.5m NW-SE) are discernible. A stone wall oriented NE-SW transects the site, depicted on the 1901-5 ed. OS 6-inch map as a townland boundary with no remains visible to the NW. Not indicated on the 1st ed. (1840) OS 6-inch map. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 22 September 2008
