Situated on a fairly steep NW-facing slope in undulating, hilly pastureland. The site appears as an oval enclosure on an aerial photograph taken in 1974 (GSIAP, S 543/3). Described (OPW files, 1965) as a 'sub-rectangular area bounded by very insignificant bank and fosse, not a ring-fort'. The site was bulldozed in 1978 (Stout 1984, 45). Not visible at ground level. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002).
