What is recorded here

Situated in a flat, marshy field, c. 10m SW of a stream. A typical horseshoe-shaped mound (dims. 10.1m NE-SW; 8.1m NW-SE; H 0.52m) with a depression (diam. 4.3m x 1.4m; D 0.37m) at SW. Part of the mound is exposed revealing black sandy soil and some burnt stone. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002).
