What is recorded here

Situated on the S end of a low N-S ridge in meadow. Depicted on the 1st and latest ed. OS 6-inch maps as a roughly circular enclosure and visible on aerial photographs taken in April 1974 (GSIAP, R 192/3) as a cropmark. The site is levelled though visible as a roughly circular rise of ground (diam. c. 27m E-W). A field fence extending NE-SW transects the NW quadrant. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 22 September 2008
