Situated on a gentle W-facing slope in undulating pasture. Depicted on the 1st ed. OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure with a field boundary abutting the SW quadrant and another boundary extending N-S, close to the W side. The E portion of the site is not shown on the 2nd ed. (1903) OS 6-inch map. The site is now levelled although visible as a roughly circular rise of ground (c. 46m N-S; c. 40.6m E-W; H c. 1m).
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
