What is recorded here

Situated on a NE-facing slope of rising ground in undulating countryside with a nearby enclosure site (TN008-024) to the N. Described as a circular area (diam. 35m approx.) enclosed by a slight bank and external fosse with the interior steeply sloped to the SW following the natural slope of ground on which the site was located (OPW file, 1967). Classified as a tree-ring and bulldozed during land reclamation in the late 1960s. Not visible at ground level. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 22 September 2008

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
