Situated on low-lying poorly drained land with a church (TN008-058) to the S. A disused unenclosed natural spring well which was according to local tradition used to cure sore eyes (FitzPatrick 1985b, 58). The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002).
