Situated on poorly drained land with bog on all sides. Nearby earthwork site (TN005-026--) lies 350m to the NW. Depicted as an irregular-shaped grove of trees and not as an antiquity on the 1840 ed. OS 6-inch map, not indicated on any subsequent editions of the OS 6-inch maps. Possibly the site of a tree-ring. Not visible at ground level.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
