In rough grazing, close to a break of slope at the E end of a ridge. A low circular flat-topped rise (diam. c. 5m; H c. 0.3m), engulfed in rushes. A silted-up fosse (Wth 2m; D 0.2m), noted during a previous site inspection in 1993 (SMR (1989) file), is now possibly masked by a dense growth of rushes. This is one of a group of four barrows (see SL047-048001-; SL047-048002-; SL047-048004-).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
